On the 30th of March 2019, Norris Academy launched the first Waikato Martial Arts Seminar which was a HUGE success! 10 instructors from different traditional styles throughout the Waikato Region came together to take stations throughout the day for participants. We had 154 people take part throughout the day ranging from 4 years old for 86 years old! People came from Taumarunui, Hamilton City, Tokoroa, Huntly, Morrinsville, and Thames! Station styles included three of the four Karate styles, Wing Chun, Muay Thai, Filipino Martial Arts, Aikido, Judo, Boxing and a self defence station. With other styles present and participating. We are looking to expand this in 2020 with new instructors from various styles joining and taking stations! Instructors were all presented with taonga to connect them, this will continue for all new instructors on board!
